Trekking in the Jungles of Shangri-La (5th April 2011 - 6th April 2011)

Find this picture familiar? It was back in Shangri-La, Tibet. We were on our 2D1N Forest Conservation Trek (5th April - 6th April 2011) as a part of our Operation Shangri-La. Embracing the freezing weather, hot sun, harsh terrains and alien climates, we embarked on our journey into unknown. The trek drained every possible life force outta me.

Yeah, it was really draining. I almost gave up on this trek.

But, miracle awaits those who persevered. Together with Pearlyn, Shimin, Enqi, we formed a awesome human train family me being the head of them. After talking, chatting and crapping with my HTF, the journey seems much more easier and well, the hectic journey became a laughter filled journey. The miracle; the friendship, support and encouragement of one another, everything became possible.

The trek was, without a doubt, a successful journey. We reached the allocated campsite in the evening, settled there for a night. Chatting under the starry sky, with a campfire accompanying us, heart to heart talk sessions with friends, playing truth or dare in the tent and laughing out like innocent babies.

And then, came midnight, we all made our way back to our tents. Chatted with Edwin for a while and then said good night. There we retreated into our dreamland in the huge field surrounded by mountains and (maybe even werewolves?). And I night with the yaks were spent. MOOOOOO~

Dear Pearlyn, today is the day that you received the name "Human Alarm Clcok" for literally waking up the whole camp with your voice. Memories, heh.

I realised a thing for sure. Our laughter, it was pure, innocent and sincere during our stay at the village. Oh, how I miss those times.

The trek/trip, it was a completely awesome, memorable. If there will be another chance, well, of course. I won't be hesitate to go back. Of course, that place held many memories.

Celebrating one year anniversary of a memorable service learning project,
